To contribute to the improvement of individual, family, and community health and quality of life by training competent audiologists with leadership qualities who can monitor and manage scientific, technological, social, and economic changes in the field of audiology.

Targeted Outcomes and Strategies of the Department of Audiology at Başkent University

The Audiology Department’s targeted outcomes and strategic developments are appropriately summarized within the scope of the department’s vision and mission as follows:

Targeted Outcome 1: To maintain and enhance the department’s prestige by producing graduates who have embraced the principles of audiology and possess the highest professional and academic qualifications.

We achieve this learning outcome by training solution-oriented audiologists and academics with a top-tier scientific foundation, a spirit of inquiry and research, and a strong reputation both nationally and internationally. In line with this goal, the department’s course catalog has been prepared in accordance with the National Core Education Program in Audiology (OUÇEP) to enhance the quality of the department’s program. Additionally, students are encouraged to participate in Erasmus+ student exchange programs. Furthermore, the quality of the department’s program must be demonstrated through SABAK accreditation.

Targeted Outcome 2: To contribute to the fields of audiology and public health through high-quality academic research.

The Department of Audiology at Başkent University aims to make intellectual contributions to these fields through a multidisciplinary approach grounded in the sciences, engineering, health, and the medical sciences. Our faculty members, with backgrounds in audiology, physics, statistics, medicine, and educational sciences, contribute to science and society through their academic research and social responsibility projects.

Targeted Outcome 3: To maintain and develop existing relationships with academic institutions, government agencies, and social organizations at the national and international levels.

The Department of Audiology at Başkent University values the close relationships it maintains with healthcare service providers, consistent with its mission and vision. To ensure the program curriculum remains aligned with current technological advancements, department members collaborate with government hospitals, teaching and research hospitals, university hospitals, hearing aid centers, cochlear implant centers, rehabilitation centers, and non-governmental organizations on joint projects, applied research, and consulting activities.
